WE. ARE. TIRED. OF. IT.

It’s the holidays. That means it’s time for gift-giving, Christmas tree decorating, delicious meal-making, and peppermint-inspired baking. It also means it’s time for that one annoying family member (or several annoying family members) to judge everyone and everything.

We’ve all been there: You’re minding your own business, heaping piles of your favorite side dish onto your Thanksgiving plate. You’re already planning to come back for seconds when Aunt Linda chimes in with, “Really? You’re going to finish all of that?”.

YES, AUNT LINDA, I REALLY AM GOING TO FINISH THIS, AND THEN I’M GOING TO GET SECONDS. That’s what you want to scream, but in the name of holiday cheer, you keep your cakehole closed and offer only a pursed-lip smile.

This year is different. This year, you’re going to speak up when someone openly and outwardly judges your eating choices at holidays. Because this year, no one has the mental space or emotional energy to deal with judgy, judgy Aunt Lindas. (This behavior was really never acceptable, but in 2020, we’re standing up for ourselves, ‘kay?).
